Emily in Paris stars and creators have teased storylines for a potential season 2 promising Season 1’s finale’s events will have a ripple effect.
Emily in Paris stars Lily Collins, Camille Razat, and Lucas Bravo, and creator Darren Star have teased storylines for the show’s potential season 2. Debuting on Netflix, Emily in Paris follows the life of its eponymous lead (Collins), as she moves from Chicago to Paris to bring an American perspective to a revered French marketing firm. Emily eventually manages to overcome the challenges of life in a foreign city, while juggling her career, new friendships, and love life.
In a recent conversation with the Collider, Emily in Paris‘ cast and showrunner teased some exciting information about the show’s potential season 2. First, Star warned fans against Gabriel’s (Bravo) business deal with Antoine (William Abadie), calling it “a dangerous combination.” Then Razat weighed in on Emily and Camille’s friendship in the new season, revealing that while there will be some tension between the two over Emily’s relationship with Gabriel, Camille will eventually forgive Emily and get back to being friends with her.
Razat also hinted towards a proper breakup between Gabriel and Camille. Meanwhile, Collins gave a sneak-peek at her future with Mathieu (Charles Martins), telling fans about how Emily will make some “surprising choices” in the new season.
Netflix has not yet greenlighted a second season for Emily in Paris, and given the streamer’s recent cancellation of hit shows like Glow and Teenage Bounty Hunter, the decision can really go either way. In case Emily in Paris gets renewed, it will have to pick up from the loose ends in season 1 and move the story forward. The stars and creators clearly have a lot of ideas about how the show will go about doing that. But how well their ideas translate on the screen will only be determined when the show commences filming.
